Natatorium & Dance Studio Alterations: 1992: $1,974,000 Nicholson Pavilion Addition was the first major building project on the Central Washington University Campus in over a decade. Campus site planning and building impact studies were conducted to necessitate comprehensive analysis focusing on public circulation, future campus growth and unique relationship to the existing conditions. Alternative sites were also evaluated. Working and communicating closely with the University, these studies were through the pre-design concept and the construction phases. All major features of the project were carefully analyzed. A new energy efficient mechanical system was connected to the existing campus steam line. It featured variable air volume and computer control of all HVAC components. The electrical system consisted of a state-of-the-art computer distribution system, and energy efficient ballasts and lamps. Specialized natural day lighting concepts were applied to minimize artificial lighting. |
